Running from April 27 to April 29, the free Leesburg Bikefest has been a great success. Held in the historic downtown of Leesburg, Florida, this year’s motorcycle rally entertained more than 300,000 bikers and motorcyclists with 40 bands and around 250 vendors.
Though not as well known as some other motorcycle events, the Leesburg Bikefest, occupying more than a score of blocks, is the nation’s largest three-day biker event. The Leesburg community welcomes the bikers each year to the event that has been called a “fun event for a good cause” and is, in fact, Leesburg Partnership’s most successful fundraiser. The partnerships is self described as being “an association of residents, government, business people and resources that are focused on the goal of aiding in the physical, economic, and social revitalization of the Leesburg Community.”
The bikefest has surely grown up since its birth in 1997 as a single-day gathering of 5,000 attendees and four vendors and local bands. We encourage all attendees to have a Florida motorcycle insurance policy for their bikes, of course.
